Interested in becoming a member of the Earlham Chapter of the NHS?
You must:
- Be in your 2nd semester of your sophomore year or older (must have attended Earlham for at least one semester)
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher
- Attend the prospective member meeting
- Complete the student interest and achievement form
- Return the interest form and a brief essay to the chapter adviser in order to be evaluated by faculty
- Be evaluated by the EHS faculty and staff in the categories of character, leadership, and service
- Score well on your evaluations
- Be approved by the faculty council made up of 5 ECSD teachers selected by the principal (NHS adviser is a 6th, non-voting member)
2022-2023 Prospective Member Timeline
As soon as 1st semester grades are calculated: Prospective members will be notified they are eligible to begin the process of becoming an NHS member
*March 2: Meet during intervention for informational meeting about NHS; receive interest forms. See meeting presentation below.
*March 24: Interest forms and essays are due back to Mrs. Gulley
*March 27-31: Faculty evaluations of prospective members
*April 6-7: New Member Selection Notification
*April 16: Induction Ceremony in the Auditorium
